Water Corp Deployment Complete

September 2010

Following the decision to implement eDocs 5 as the Corporate document repository across the whole of the Water Corporation of WA, WindowLogic was engaged to manage the implementation. The team consisted of experienced information analysts, DM technical resources and trainers in addition to project management for the deployment. The team worked with Water Corporation staff in around 40 business areas spread across the whole State to implement the system.

Success of an enterprise wide deployment depends on much more than just rolling out the technology. The team worked closely with each business unit to determine their requirements, security model, migration requirements, templates and naming standards, information interchange requirements and more.

Each of the 3000 plus users received classroom training, face-to-face support after initial training and targeted follow up sessions. One of the major challenges was delivering classroom training across the State from Kununurra in the far north to Esperance in the south and this was achieved using a mobile classroom.

As more and more users started to adopt the system, the user numbers reached a point where sticking with the old fileshares was not an option and the overall rollout was achieved within budget and schedule. Water Corporation has since engaged WindowLogic to complete a value-add project and is planning a major version upgrade.
